A 2 day CPQIL workshop was conducted at Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva on 28th and 29th July 2018 which was attended by 20 participants from south region.
Fr. Joy Kilikunnel (Director, Admin), Dr. (Retd Maj Gen) MNG Nair (Medical Director) and Dr. Sunitha (Chief of Lab Services) inaugurated the training program and highlighted the importance of implementing quality systems in laboratories and training lab staff regarding best practices.
Dr. Aparna Jairam & Dr. Santwana Vernekar were the faculty who enlightened the participants with the interpretation of the ISO 15189 standards and how to implement the same in laboratories.
As part of the curriculum, the participants conducted an audit of the Rajagiri Hospital Laboratory Services based on the standards. This gave them first-hand experience of an internal auditor and also an insight into the systems and practices of the Lab services in Rajagiri Hospital.
A post training assessment was also conducted to evaluate the awareness of the participants.
