CPHIC Basic Training Program at Shija Hospitals & Research Centre, Imphal

CAHO and Schulke conducted 14th Basic training program in Imphal at Shija Hospitals & Research Centre, Langol.

Dr. Sorokhaibam Jugindra Singh, Medical Superintendent welcomed the participants and faculty from CAHO & Schulke. Dr. Palin Khundongbam in his inaugural address highlighted the importance of controlling HAI (Hospital acquired infections). Also mentioned that it is a collective responsibility of all healthcare workers at every level to control HAI and by controlling HAI, emergence of multidrug resistant bacteria can be prevented or slowed down. Combined efforts by all healthcare establishments at community level is imperative for the effective control and prevention of infection. All big or small healthcare establishments should apply and implement accreditation by NABH/NABL. By doing this the quality of healthcare in the region and country can be uplifted. It is not only for the patients but also for the safety of healthcare workers and visitors.

57 participants including doctors, nurses, administrators, quality managers of the various organizations attended the program. The sessions were conducted along with group activities.

The program was highly appreciated by the participants and were charged up to be implementers in their respective organizations.
