CAHO Celebrated World Patient Safety Day 2022 on 17th September 2022 on the theme - Medication Safety.
A virtual event to commemorate World Patient Safety Day 2022 and conclude month-long activities organized towards the promotion of the theme Medication Safety - Medication Without Harm was held on 17 Sep, 2022.
The highlight was the keynote address by Dr. Neelam Dhingra (Unit Head, WHO Patient Safety Flagship, World Health Organization). Many other eminent healthcare leaders – Dr. Carsten Engel (CEO, ISQua), Prof. Dato' Dr. Ravindran Jegasothy (Former President, ASQua), Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar (CEO, NABH), Dr. BK Rana (CEO, QAI), Ms. Upasana Arora (Managing Director, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospitals), Dr. Jothi Clara Michael (Director of Nursing, IHH Healthcare India), Mr. Gaurav Loria (Group Chief Quality Officer & Vice President, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd.), Dr. Fathima Shameen (Clinical Pharmacist, AIMS Kochi and Dr. Saravana Kumar (GM & Unit Head, Dr. Mehta's Hospitals, Chennai) also shared their perspectives on medication safety. Mr. Som Mittal (Chair, P4PSI) also presented the role of patients and initiatives undertaken to promote Patients for Patient Safety.
A National initiative to sensitize all the stakeholders about the safe use of medications by taking a pledge to adopt Best Medication Safety Practices was also introduced as one of the major activities of WPSD. 69000+ individuals have become a part of the drive #
During the valedictory, "The National Certifying Examination for Infection Control Professionals by CAHO" was launched and winners of the e-quiz competition and best practices in medication safety contest were recognized.
The occasion was also graced by CAHO Patrons and the Executive Committee of CAHO along with 1075 + attendees. The event was broadcasted by more than 50 hospitals in their auditorium.
