The 2nd training program to Certify professionals for Quality Implementation in Laboratories (CPQIL) was conducted at MS Ramaiah Medical College & Hospital, Bangalore on 20th & 21st Jan,2018. It focused on the essential requirements to execute standards, manage laboratory and to gain knowledge of the skills needed for implementing Quality Practices.
The programme started with the welcome address by Dr. Narendranath , Chief Administrator- MSRMH, introducing the faculty and briefing the course, techniques of implementing quality standards in everyday challenges.
The program was attended by 45 candidates including pathologists, quality managers, laboratory owners and technical staff. The faculty for the course were eminent Laboratory Professional with more than 25 years of experience in Laboratory medicine, Quality and Implementation- Dr. Aparna Jairam and Dr. Santwana Vernekar from Mumbai.
Topics ranging from Quality Tools , Competency Assessment , Documentation Control, Purchase and Inventory management, Risk Assessment, How to prepare SOP’s, Patient and clinical feed back, Safety, Quality Indicators- methods of capturing and analysing , IQC and EQAS, pre analytical variables gave a 360 view of the practical issues faced by lab professional and steps to resolve it. An opportunity to conduct a mock Audit added enthusiasm to the participants.
The program ended with a vote of thanks by Lead Faculty Dr. Aparna Jairam followed by Dr Santwana Vernekar welcoming them to the CAHO family and assuring them of resolving their queries.
