CAHO and OGSSI (Obstetric and Gynaecological Society of Southern India) have collaborated for implementation of WHO Safe Childbirth Checklist as a Quality Improvement tool in the labour rooms.
This is a six months pilot project where participating hospitals will go through the design phase followed by engagement phase and then project will be launched in the individual Hospitals.
The program was inaugurated on 24th November at Dr.Mehta' s Hospitals, Chennai under the leadership of Dr.Anuradha Pichumani, Chairperson, Quality Professionals (CAHO).
Dr.Vijayalakahmi Seshadri (OGSSI President), Dr.Premalatha (OGSSI President Elect) and Mr.Sameer Mehta (Vice President, CAHO) were also present.
The participating hospitals of the Chennai region included- Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Voluntary Health Services Hospital , Dr.Mehta's Hospitals, Public Health centre , K.S.Hospital, Bloom Hospital, Firm Hospitals, Joseph Hospitals, Annai Arul Hospital, Pankajam Memorial Hospital, Vijaya Hospital, Seethapathy Clinic and Hospital.
